MIKHAIL LERMONTOV OCT 2008

Here are a few pictures of the October 2008 recent trip to the Mihkail Lermontov on Sweet Georgia. We had two groups on a back to back 4 day a piece trip. First group was led by Ozzi Simon Doughty and another 12 australians. The last time there were that many Australians on the Lermontov was when she sank in 1986!!!!!!!!

We dropped off our Ozzi contingent in Picton and picked up our second group. Click on the picture below to see that trip pictures topside. Our second group were a mixture of Lermi "repeat offenders" and some new faces. We had 10 breathers and the rest bubble blowers. The trip opened yet another chapter in exploration in the wreck with extensive time spent in the engineroom. - As a result Mischa Temple found a bell!!!! Yeah how good is that!!! Shown in the picure below. You can also see the underwater picture shots on the link below. I also managed to drag CD Dave into the Leningrad restaurant and I loved spending just under an hour inside the massive room taking pictures and spending some time just soaking up what a wonderful place is really is.

Also got to spend more time exploring the officers quarters and one thing that the boys started was swimming all along the starboard side of the Atlantic deck! Most of this deck is below silt level and next time I will certainly be giveing it a good look so keep an eye out for pictures of those areas. I have also updated a lot of areas and pictures so check it out.
